The main focus of the role will be to lead, develop, deliver, support and assess film theory and filmmaking practice modules across the course, working as part of the course team. You will be expected to have a specialist understanding of contemporary filmmaking practice in a wide variety of contexts and the ability to present and communicate this knowledge effectively to students.
You will also contribute skills and experience to building an external profile with employers, film and cinema events and exhibitors. Working individually and as a member of a team you will deliver within a variety of settings including lectures, seminars, studio and location-based workshops, peer reviews and individual tutorials. You will also provide pastoral support for students.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in a relevant subject (or be willing to achieve such within two years of appointment), a postgraduate teaching qualification (or be willing to achieve one within 3 years) and be able to demonstrate specialist filmmaking skills and support critical thinking and reflective practice.
